How object detection actually works
At BOARD's core sits SAM3, the third generation of Meta's Segment Anything architecture. When you upload, the vision transformer generates dense embeddings for every pixel region.
These embeddings decode into instance-level masks — one per object — without any user prompt. Within 2-3 seconds, every object is outlined and interactive.
Processing runs server-side on GPU clusters. Your device speed is irrelevant — a five-year-old phone gets the same performance as a new desktop.
